Ohio Young Birders Club

Encouraging, Educating, and Empowering Tomorrow's Conservation Leaders

Imagine...
Your on a car trip with family and you see a Mother Wild Turkey with 8 young (and i mean, just hatched, not large brown ones the size of the mother) walking by a house.

Since not everyone saw them, you turn the car around and start going back. You park near the area where you saw them, but they are gone. Then, you look toward the road...

As you look at the road, your eyes widen in shock, and so everyone else looks. Two of the recently hatched hadn't made it over... They were run-over by motorists. The others were no where to be seen.

My family and i were shocked beyond belief, to see the life-less little birds who were not even given a chance... by some retarded motorist... Really, the speed limit was 40, there were only a few cars on the road, there were nine birds crossing in a line, and the two poor little things, full of so much life only two minutes before were now lying motionlessly at the center of the four lane road.

Really, and how would that motorist feel if his kids were run over when they were crossing thier street?
Pretty bad, and he would probably really want revenge... But no, Turkeys can not sue... what a shock, just ruins one's day when they see such a sight. Some people should really stop being so ignorant!

That would make me extremely angry. I hate ignorant people!

We hit a raccoon the other day. It made me very sad.
