Hi Everyone,
I'm one of the founding members of the OYBC, and a former youth advisory panel member. Now I'm a 'supporting member' cause I got old (aka over 18). Still love birding and when I'm back in Ohio I try to visit....
I'm going to school @
Michigan Tech majoring in Wildlife Ecology and Management and having a blast exploring the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
I spoke at the 07 + 08 conferences (both of which were fantastic) and I'm hoping to remain active w/ the OYBC even though I've 'out grown it' (though I'm still refusing to grow up)
My interest in birds is in the rail's and any of the passerines. I have my banding subpermit and I did my own little mini research project out at
Pioneer Scout Reservation the past two summers. After I graduate I'm looking at either grad school or going into some kind of research.
Outside of birding I love spending time outside, camping, rock climbing, kayaking, canoeing, caving, reading, writing, any kind of music, playing in pep band, hanging out w/ my friends, movies, theatre.
I'm a facebook junkie, I'm catholic and active in my church, and I love anything that can make me laugh.
Here @ MTU I'm in the birding club (the Birdbums), Wildlife Society, Society of Wetlands Scientists, Venture Crew. I'm in the Honors Institute and am currently planning a speakers series for this upcoming year that may include Kenn Kaufman :)
toodles for now, I am off to class, if you ever need a place to stay in the NW UP let me know......
