Meet at the Visitor Center.
This trip will focus on birds of the evening and the night. American Woodcock are regularly found at the Miami-Whitewater Wetlands, and Short-eared Owls are also a realistic possibility. Both are “crepuscular” species, meaning they are active at dawn and dusk, so we’ll have a decent chance of seeing them as well as hearing them. We’ll move on from there to the woodland areas of the park, where we should be able to hear, and possibly see, owls such as Great Horned Owl, Barred Owl and Eastern Screech-Owl.Ow
